Thank you... very powerful...
Lorraine, you've made me so aware of Lyme now that I have something new to nag the children about. I know how personal this is for you and I thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge with the Neighborhood so that others may not suffer.
It is overwhelming. I am so, so sorry that your daughter and you have to grapple with this nightmare, day in and day out, year in and year out. I grieve for you.
DON'T grieve for us...we LIVE with a disease...we LOVE ferociously...and we LAUGH often.
I would wish to spare others the journey Stephanie, you're right...and education is the key. Taken care of early, it's an easy fix. Time to start educating our General Practitioners.
There's a Pulitzer Prize story waiting in the "Lyme Wars," if a reporter worth their salt would start digging. The Infectious Disease Society of America is working the back halls right now, to take the Federal Lyme Bill off the table. Remember now, I'm talking about the fastest-growing vector-borne disease in the world. Kudos to Rep. Adam Smith for co-sponsoring Bill HR741 Kudos to Connecticut State Att. Gen. Blumenthal for investigating the IDSA...finding evidence of exclusionary data-collecting and financial ties to pharmaceutical companies.
Search Lyme on Youtube...and be ready for the stories. We will be purchasing "Under Our Skin," and I'd love to give a Blog Squad showing down at the TNT offices...how about it TNT?
