SUNDAY AFTERNOON---NOTES FROM A COUCH POTATO

Warm room... March Madness soothing me. Don't call. Don't email me. If you are going to pray for me... let me make two suggestions: 1. that I don't blame myself later for just settling down into this comfy chair for the next few hours and just letting technology numb me to stimulating conversation, enlightening thinking, helping and being helped by others, and just letting life love me; 2. that March Madness will not be followed by April Apathy, or May Moodiness...

Check out this You Tube celebration of technology gone am---!

What a riot that invention is!! Opening the beer, after being tossed, might be just a tad more excitement than the couch needs.

Put yer feet up pal...you've earned it!

I fell asleep after watching Burt Lancaster in a western movie. He played a Mexican American who fought against prejudice with integrity and courage... I was surprised to see that those typesof Westerns came out in the sixties...
I guess my greatest surprise was that I would actually watch Burt Lancaster playing a person of color. You know race and cultural differences continue to confuse and amaze me.
Then I went to bed, picked up a book of short stories by Tim O'Brien, and spent an amazing two hours with an absolutely superb writer...
Great day in Tacoma...

Joseph, come to prison. We'll give you something to write about! Three out of the four services I do on a Sunday, I also have to give a rundown on the news from the "outside." The most I could tell them yesterday was that the final games of the Elite Eight were being played that day. Next week, I may actually be able to tell them who's in the finals. That's about how aware I am of sports.

I did know that today is Opening Day. Does that count?
