This Saturday...Spring Fling Reminder

Just a quick reminder of Saturday's (March 15th.) Spring Fling, put on by The Two Waters Arts Alliance. Come on down to the Key Civic Centre and enjoy Key Peninsula hospitality....art, music, conversation and community. For details, please see my previous post "Spring Fling" which is listed at the side of this page.

Today's "appeteaser" for the event is a quick introduction to another Two Waters artist, Reni Moriarity, a wonderfully gifted, hard-working neighbour and friend. For full disclosure, I must mention Reni is also married to Jazz Musette pianist, Mark Runions...family is community and community is family, after all. Here's a quick profile from the Two Waters' website:

Reni Moriarity:
A native of the East Coast, Reni Moriarity moved to the Pacific Northwest in her late teens. She studied at the University of Washington and later studied Japanese pottery and drawing. For 20 years she was a professional potter. She became interested in Sumi painting as a means of decorating pots, and later came to love it as an independent art form. Reni’s work has been exhibited throughout Puget Sound, United States, France and Japan. Her work has won major awards at the Sumi-e Society of America National Exhibit.
"Spring Iris"
Check out Reni and other artists at www.twowaters.org Hope to see you Saturday evening. If you read this blog, do come up and introduce yourself between sets. If you'd like to check out the sound of Jazz Musette, go to www.jazzmusette.com Don't forget to sign the guestbook!

What great art you posted here. Such a treat!! Went to your website as well. Can't say enough. Lorraine, you are ABSOLUTELY awesome! No doubt you've heard it all before a million times, but it can't hurt to say that one more time. I want to hear all your CD's. I want a copy of your B & W 8 x 10 glossy (with autograph) - which I will keep forever and not post on E-Bay! Is there a t-shirt? Gee whiz! Point me in the direction of your official fan-club. Oh! Oh! Oh!

My dear Mizu...you make me blush! I'm so glad you liked the music. The website was designed by my daughter, Anna, who also sings with me when she's feeling up to it. I hope you signed the guestbook...I'll have to go and see.

Isn't Reni's art wonderful?! I would soooo love to see you, though I know it's a long way to come. I do have a guest room....

Joseph...you would just love Reni and all the other artists at Two Waters. We do a daytime show for them in the summer...out here at the "Art Barn". If you'd like to come to that, I'll come and get you!

I love to kidnap people and take them on beautiful adventures...back in NY, they called me "The Holiday Goddess"! Say you want to be kidnapped...and it shall be so!

Lorraine -

You know - I tried to leave a note at the guestbook but everytime (3 times was not a charm) the computer said I posted one, when I went to the guestbook to take a look it wasn't there! I don't know if it was me or what. If 3 repeated postings of a message which I essentially took to this site, shows up on the guestbook, you know who is responsible. By the time it was all over, I had turned into a puddle!

My son is talking to me about the possibility of accompanying me on Saturday, but it's still at the "iffy" stage. Thank you for your offer. If it doesn't work now, summer may be better. Who knows, I may run into Oneal?

Great art, great post, Lorraine. If our sniffly clan is up to it I will suggest this for my artist son's birthday Saturday. Thanks for keeping the Neighborhood in the kNow.
XXOO,
Stephanie
