Cabin Fever Epidemic in U.P.

Cabin Fever is alive and flourishing in the Thompson home. The snow is pretty, but getting tiresome. Holiday stuff is basically done, so we are hanging out. Together. A lot of the time. MUCH of the time. Here are some family quotes to describe the level of being snowbound:

"Whatcha doin'? Why are you doing that? When will you be done? Can we play a game? Can we have cocoa? What time are we going out in the snow? Can I just follow you around?"

--rapidly spoken by 7-year-old Thompson Daughter

"It's too cold for Mommy to go out in the snow anymore. Tell Daddy to break out the Kahulua."

--Kim Thompson, snow wimp

"Now this, THIS reminds me of childhood. This is a Spokane Christmas!"

--Thompson Husband, former Spokane Native (as we are reminded regularly), Drives in Snow

And the best for last. From the lips of the very bored, 10 year old Thompson son:

"Do you know anyone who doesn't like to poop, blink, or breathe?"

God help us. Each and every one of us.

Lovely, lovely, lovely! A happy white Yule to you Lorraine!

Oh, pooh, Kim. Should I comment on your post on Lorraines? This is dumb.

Okay, that said, I think Spokane-Native-husband should take you all out to the WA historical museum. I haven't gone out in the car since Thursday and have accomplished a lot, but know difficult it can be for today's children. My grandson has the same complaint although your son's question really takes the cake!

Hi Stephanie:

I just fell on the floor when Justin posed that question.

I did get out to Fred Meyer the other day. I spent a long time in there.

Mostly, I prefer to hide in the house when it's snowy and take a long winter's nap.

Well, cabin fever is affecting the pets. Gabriel chased the cat onto the back of the living room couch where he knocked the lamp behind it off a table and shattered the bulb. Next the cat decided to sample our Solstice cake on the side table. He jumped up and knocked the cake and glass plate onto the floor, destorying both.

Throw everyone outside to make the perfect snowman...lock door...make yourself a hot toddy and put yer feet up! (tee-hee...kidding...sorta...)

We're back in white-out conditions...I'm considering a nap behind closed doors...let everyone fend for themselves.

By the way....brrrrrrrrr!!!

"Let's have some beans and wienies!"
--said by hubby who obviously does not get the concept of the cabin being closed-in!

Oh what a fun idea Lorraine? Joseph, are you up for it?

The Thompson children have enjoyed having their teenage next door neighbor over (who babysits for us). We fed her a hardy lunch with the kids and they followed her around like baby ducks!
