Space VS. Chocolate

While reading The News Tribune today I learned of a billionaire who has paid $5 million to reserve a seat on a future private space flight. Hmmmmmm . . . .Then I read an interesting list of food festivals held in the United States. A few mentioned: Burgerfest in Hamburg, New York; Chocolatefest in Burlington, Wisconsin; Hot Dog Festival in Frankfort, Indiana; Popcorn Festival in Marion, Ohio and the National Asparagus Festival in Shelby, Minnesota. While some people may be walking around like they are already in space doesn’t the Chocolatefest sound much more fun, exciting and interesting?

Chocolate festival? I'd probably camp out for that one.

You know what else sounds fun? The Garlic Festival in wine country in Northern California. Of course, right next door they should have the Breath Mint Festival.

Each year there's a Garlic Festival in Ocean, WA at the tip of the Long Beach Peninsula. This year it is the 21-22nd of June so there's still time to make your plans and it's cheaper than going to CA.

Personally, I'd pick chocolate over space anytime!

Stephanie, I didn't know we had a Garlic Fest so close! Regretfully, I have plans that weekend, but I'll pass this onto the other garlic lovers I know.

Sunday, August 17th is the Jazz & Oysters Festival in Oysterville on Willapa Bay on the Long Beach Peninsula side of it. Anyone who hasn't discovered this quaint little town should make plans to check it out.
