The Gift Of Loving

Thank You, Lord, for the amazing gift of so many people around the world, who are choosing, like Dr. King, his wife, Mrs. Coretta King, their family members, and so many people of different races and spiritual experiences did, today to reach out and give their lives so that our world can be a safe, fruitful place for all. The Martin Luther King icon is reprinted here with the most gracious permission of John O'Brien, the owner of Trinity Stores (see Trinity Stores website).

Thank you Kalieb Nash-Walker, from Life Christian School, for sharing the gift of your singing Amazing Grace so confidently and graciously with us at the Bellarmine Martin King Assembly

At my daughter's school, they were tasked to reflect on today by being of service to others. She is choosing to surprise a sick relative who is recovering from surgery with a treat, a card, and being a helper around the house for that person. She said that would make Martin Luther King very happy.

I think she is right!

There are wonderful pictures available on the web of Martin with his family at table, pushing one of his children on a swing, celebrating his birthday with his staff... loving does being at home...

As it goes in the family...so it goes in the world.

I know that Clover Park High School had a day of volunteerism for MLK instead of just a day off. Clover Park epitomizes the diversity of the country. With its focus on "Society and Justice" it is a model of educating young people to become true citizens. I hope this committment catches on with other schools.
