Wanted: A Faithful Friend.

How Much is that Doggie in the Window?

Dear Santa,

You may remember the Patti Page recording of “How Much is that Doggie in the Window?” It was popular when I was very small, but I remember it well. It was filled with longing for me and now I’m longing to find another doggie as my Christmas Wish for someone very special.

The doggie I am looking for must be intelligent, housebroken and not needing immediate veterinarian attention. This doggie must be capable of being a companion for in individual recovering from serious illness and large enough to offer a little stability for faltering steps. The doggie I am looking for must be well behaved and not too young.

And finally, Santa, the doggie must not cost a lot as we haven’t a lot to give except a canyon filled with love. If you know of such a pooch who would like a loving home for Christmas, please let me know.

Love,
Stephanie

You might check with the foster coordinator at the Tacoma Humane Society to see if they have any dogs in foster care, that way the foster family can tell you all about what the dog's personality is like and if it would be fitting for your friend. Good luck! You can also try craigslist, but you'll definitely want to ask a lot of questions about the dog and do a couple meet and greets...

Thanks for the tips! I bought Legos on Craig's list for my grandson, but hadn't thought to look for a dog there. Thank you.

Horray! Santa came early this year and brought just the right dog! Way to go, Santa.

Now about MY list...

Good to hear Stephanie!

So...other than world peace and equal pay for women...what's your list? Let's have a fantasy (I hear this helps get through recessions and depressions about recessions) of...money being no object. Who would have a secret wish for what? Things are not usually my thing...but daydreams certainly are.

I love to dream about being able to whisk all of my family to Hawaii for a Christmas together. I'd love to take my mum for a gentle beachwalk...give the sister I haven't seen in 18 years a big hug.

Anyone else have secret daydream wishes for a stormy Monday?
