The View from My Windy Porch

I don’t know what the weather is in the South Sound as I am on the blustery coast enjoying one of my favorite pastimes, a storm off the ocean. The view from my porch this morning, after a night of howling wind, is sheets of rain across the highway and a whipping American flag on the telephone pole. I got up in the night and lit candles just in case as the wind howled around the eves of our old house.

There’s laundry to do, which requires braving the weather between the house and the barn, and cleaning for Thanksgiving, but just now I’m going to make a cup of tea, take a book and get toasty beside the pellet stove before officially starting my day.

That's the right priorities...tea, warmth and a book in a storm...and gazing out at Nature's wonder!
