Recycle Your Dead Computer

Do you have an old computer that’s gone to its last reward—your garage? Although marvelous machines, computers are filled with things that are bad for the landfill, but can be taken apart and recycled.

Currently Discovery Elementary in Gig Harbor is recycling old computers. If you’ve got one taking up space in the garage bring it to Discovery at 9405 Rosedale Street. For more information contact the school at 253-530-1200.

My laptop is dying... but it has a library of wonderful historical and scriptural materials stored on it. I am not about to give that material away.
But I appreciate your highlighting a most worthy cause.

You can have your documents pulled off the computer at Best Buy by the Geek Squad, but on a flash drive or disk and then upload it into a new computer. It is good for all of us to keep back-ups of our pictures and documents. Once the computer crashes for good, the material might not be retrievable.

Stephanie- Do you know how much it costs to have them save all your files to an external drive?

Also, are you aware of any other places you can have your computer recycled? I live in Browns Point & rarely make the trek across the Narrows.
