It Wasn't On Porpoise!

THAT creature is what we saw on our boat in the bay yesterday right smack dab in the middle of the bay between Vashon Island and Dash Point. This is called a Dall's Porpoise. Their markings are eerily similar to the Orca and they are good size. I screamed "whales" while sitting on the bow with my daughter. Upon closer inspection, these friendly guys weren't what I thought but really cool to see close-up nonetheless.

We actually saw three, possibly four clustered together!

Oh wow, how lucky you are!

Thanks! We felt super lucky. Not easy to see them, from what I understand. I just want nuts yelling and cheering.

I love these guys! Spent a day sailing, some years ago, between Vancouver Island and Salt Spring Island...had their company all day. What a wonderful sighting for you!

It was great. It was like they were playing with our little boat like a big toy!

I know! It's like a seeing a treasure. I am telling everyone I know. Hopefully, they will remember that I am nice and won't find my over-excitement irritating.
