Most major malls around the Puget Sound area are closed today in observance of Easter including Tacoma Mall, but it seems that Sears 'didn't get the memo.'
Sears is the only Tacoma Mall retailer that is open today; Sears will be open until 6 p.m.
Other businesses and malls that closed surely did so not so much in observance of Easter, but in observance of their employees' cherishing a special holiday in worship and/or simply time with their families.

I am confused about what your point is.
Thank you, Jaynie, for putting family ahead of profit and convenience...

Yes, thank you, Jaynie. I get your point. Family and God first! Too bad a lot of people do not live that way.Keep up the good work
We do not live in a theocracy. I'm all for celebrating all religious holidays. Everyone has the option of taking time off (paid or unpaid as the case may be) in order to be with family for special holidays. We do require businesses to close for Jewish, Islamic, or Hindu holidays. We are a secular nation that needs to respect all traditions and Sears ought not to be castigated for being open on a Christian holiday. Plenty of other folks are required to work on days that they might like to be at the temple or mosque.
I see I left out an import "not" in the above. We do not require businesses to be closed for nonChristian holidays so why should Sears have to close for Easter?
