EARLY MORNING REVERIE

I was waiting for my ride to Portland last weekend, and all of a sudden, the beauty around me stopped me and invited me to let go of my concerns and attend to the beauty of:

The plants

Mount Rainier

The birds singing, Rainier splendidly decked out, and cars and trucks moving quickly along at the beginning of the day... All so very, very wonderful

Thank you, Joseph, for sharing your morning reverie! A good reminder for being present in the moment.

As my dear friend D. would say, "Waking up is the first miracle of the day."

Amen, Lorraine. On the rare occasion that I am around when my husband wakes up and I ask how he is he says, "Well, I made it through another night, so I must be well."

With a good night's sleep... breathing deeply, I wake up alert, and then, when consciously or suddenly, I take time to listen to what is going on around me, I find the world just full of surprises...
